Quality Logistics

A freight site that answers where the truck is.

An Ohio trucking company needed more than a new site. In eight weeks we delivered a brand refresh, live VIN tracking from its ELD system, a quote form, a mobile driver application with QR codes on the trucks, and the servers behind them.

Dispatch and live tracking

The company's own published figures.

  1. The problem

Forty calls a day asking where the truck was.

Shippers phoned dispatch to find their load, quote requests arrived half filled in, and recruiters collected every driver's details by phone. The old site weighed 15 MB on first load.

  2. What we did

Three jobs, each with its own path.

Quote, track and apply. Tracking takes one VIN and reads the ELD system, no account needed. The driver application checks CDL, Hazmat and TWIC before it sends, and QR codes on truck doors open it with that truck's ID.

  3. The outcome

    The site took the calls.

Calls about a load's location fell from 40–45 a day to 7–9, as 68% of clients tracked their own truck. Quote requests rose 43%, and 38% of driver applications now come from QR codes.

  5. Driver application
  6. Servers & security

A diagram of how the work was arranged, not a timed schedule. Pages and the quote form were ready by week four; tracking, the application and the API followed, and week seven went to errors, speed and security.

From a truck door to a recruiter

Every application knows where it came from.

A QR code on a truck door opens the driver application with that truck's ID, so the recruiter knows which truck or ad brought the candidate.

  1. Where it starts
    • A QR code on a truck door
    • A tracking search by VIN
    • A state on the coverage map
    • A quote request

    • CDL class, Hazmat, TWIC
    • Pickup and delivery
    • Selected state
    Sent with every request
  3. Where it lands
    • The recruiter
    • Six automatic checks
    • Dispatch
    • The analytics report

  • A candidate used to leave a number and we collected the rest by phone. Now the application shows CDL, experience, Hazmat, TWIC and pay expectations at once, and the QR codes on our trucks became a steady source of drivers.
